Benjamin Moore picked Webster Green HC-130, a classic mid-tone green, and built the rest of its 2027 palette on tans, browns, and soft off-whites. Sherwin-Williams picked Celery, and Behr went with Grounded, an earthy olive. If you’re repainting a room or the whole house in the next year, here’s what I’d actually put on your walls in Memphis and what I’d leave on the chip.
What are the 2027 paint colors of the year?
Benjamin Moore chose Webster Green HC-130, announced October 14, 2026. Sherwin-Williams and HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams chose Celery SW 6421 together. Behr chose Grounded, a new olive green. Valspar and Glidden went blue, with Cottage Door and Artifact.
So the headline is green. But read past the headline and every one of them leans warm. Nobody picked a cool gray this year, and that’s the part that matters for your house.

Are warm earthy neutrals still in style for 2027?
Yes. Benjamin Moore’s own 2027 trend page points to “tawny browns, dusky pastels, and chic ochres,” and the colors it picked back that up. The neutrals in that palette are the ones I expect most Memphis homeowners to actually use.

How do 2027 paint colors look in Memphis light?
They look warmer than the chip, especially in rooms facing west. Afternoon sun here comes in low and gold, so a golden tan like Shakespeare Tan can push yellow by 4 PM. That same room at 9 AM might look almost beige.
North rooms go the other way. Warm neutrals help there, because they keep a shady room from feeling gray and cold. My rule is simple: paint a big sample on two walls and look at it morning, afternoon, and under your lamps before you buy gallons.
Can you use these colors outside on a brick house?
Some of them, yes, but check the brand’s listing first. Sherwin-Williams lists Celery for interiors, not exteriors. Behr says Grounded works inside and out. Webster Green looks great on a front door or shutters against red brick.

Which 2027 color should you skip?
For most Memphis homes I’d skip Celery on big walls. It’s light, with a light reflectance value around 71, and that yellow undertone can turn lime in a sunny room. In a small laundry room with good cabinets, it’s charming. Across a whole open plan, it gets loud.
That’s not a knock on Sherwin-Williams. It’s just a color that needs the right room.
What about the walls in a newer suburban house?
Most new builds in Collierville, Bartlett, and Lakeland came with builder grade flat paint over smooth drywall. A warm neutral like Shakespeare Tan or White Down hides less than you’d think in flat paint, so it scuffs and shows touch ups. When we repaint those houses, we usually move walls to a washable eggshell or matte with better coverage. The color gets the attention, but the sheen is what you’ll live with.
